Greetings earthlings. It has been quite some time since I posted so I thought you would be interested to know what heinous proceedings have taken place. OK well maybe not but here they are anyway.

World Cup: Germany is great these days while playing host to the World Cup. For once it can legally enforce keeping certain [immigrant] people out of their country, claiming that they are protecting the games by keeping out the "hooligans." Now I know there is validity to this, but hey, maybe they will keep the practice going for their next coming. By the way, plenty of "No Nazi" signs everywhere. I didn't really know it was a problem again but apparently tey take it pretty seriously. The last interesting thing I noted was that even the Germans wondered where the hell all of the stinking Mexicans were coming from! Between the World Cup in Germany and the U.S., I am not sure Mexico had any Mexicans left. Fun things included wearing newly minted T-Shirts around that said "Team America...FUCK YEAH!" which were a huge hit until we realized that the U.S. soccer team would not be participating in the games.

Grand Prix du Canada: OK I am over going to Montreal for Grand Prix. It is WAY too expensive and the same shit happens every year. Friend's wife gets drunk, friend's wife hits on other nationalities (this year Irish), friend gets pissed and leaves, we deal with idiot drunk wife, internationals want to kick our ass, we leave, wife makes it home somehow, friend never knows if she was screwed, etc. $600/day sucks when you don't get laid, though I got about 50 pictures of hot chicks and big tits. I should have just surfed porn all weekend. Either Schumacher or Alonso wins every year.

I want to go to Sweden.

It's about that time again for some more predictions. Looks like the Dow is headed down and fast. I'm thinking a pull out around the 10500 level this week/beginning of next. That'll amount to a 1,100 point drop in (what was it?) three weeks. Ouch!

Longer term predictions: The involved Marines will be tried and convicted of murder charges in Hidatha. Americans sadly will yawn. It will not be the catalyzing event that the Vietnam Mai Lai massacre was. In a related prediction, prisoners in Guantanamo will start dropping like flies due to thier hunger strikes. These events and others will have a huge demoralizing effect on the troops. Coup?

Ben Bernanke, the Fed Chairman, will become the most unpopular person in the world as he continues to hike interest rates and cause a hard landing to the housing and credit bubbles in his quest to lower inflation. Note to Mr. Benk: easy credit and printing greenbacks like they was going out of style caused the bubble and the resulting consumer inflation, there aint nuthin you can do to fix it (see Misesian economics).

Bird flu is on the march. It appears that the virus has learned how to survive in the cooler air passageways of humans. It's now not a question of if humans can catch it, it's a question of can we slow the spread and how high is the mortality rate going to be. My gut tells me this thing is going to be a major nusciance but that we'll make it through here in the U.S. due to our higher standard of living. The 3rd world will take it on the chin. I'm thinking 6 months to 2 years for full impact to hit. The silver lining here is that this will revamp our health care system, which will be brought to its knees, hospitals will serve no purpose but to increase the spread and doctors will be ineffective at any treatment. I wonder if the pharmaceutical industries will be nationalized in an attempt to speed up Tamiflu and vaccine production.

The U.S. is gearing up for a showdown at the UN. Bolton is talking tough and the Iran issue just won't go away = U.S. walks out of the union.

Oil, the national termoil, will cause us to invade Venezuela. It'll be a good move yeiling much more oil than Iraq and costing much, much less.

Political predictions: Dems rule House and Senate. Latinos start to show thier muscle and gain some seats, Hillary '08.
